Montgomery Park
Montgomery Park is a Northwest Portland district named for the nine-story building that Montgomery Ward opened in 1920 as its West Coast mail-order warehouse and store. The warehouse closed in 1982, after which developer Bill Naito converted it to offices and swapped two letters on the rooftop sign to make it "Montgomery Park." In December 2024, Portland City Council adopted the Montgomery Park Area Plan, aiming to redevelop the area by extending the Portland Streetcar's NS route north into the industrial area and rezoning into a mixed-use, transit-oriented neighborhood.
