Jockey Club

Jockey Club

The Jockey Club opened in 1974 as a 348-unit condo complex on the Las Vegas Strip. Within a few years of opening, many units got converted into timeshares; according to the official website, 270 units are timeshares today while 78 remain owned by individual owners and are used as year-round residences, vacation homes, or are rented privately.

The Jockey Club's two towers were originally surrounded by a large surface parking lot. In the 2000s, the land was sold off and is now the site of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, a high-end casino and resort with two 610 ft. towers containing 3,033 hotel rooms. MGM Resorts purchased the Cosmopolitan in 2022 and the narrow strip of land next door in 2024, and is considering expanding the Bellagio onto the newly acquired land and build a direct connection with the Cosmopolitan. If the expansion is built, the Jockey Club will be completely surrounded by these mega-resorts and completely invisible to most visitors to the Las Vegas Strip.
